An Unusual Childhood: How God Guided Me to Be Honest

By Bao’ai, South Korea

The words “It’s so hard to be a good person who speaks the truth” give voice to the thoughts of many of us, and views like “Nothing great can be accomplished without lies,” “Think before you speak and then talk with reservation,” and “As swift legs make a good horse, a slick tongue makes a good man” have become our codes of conduct, and we’ve gradually forgotten how to be honest. While we’re bemoaning that people are deceitful and cold toward each other in today’s society, a little Christian’s experience of being an honest person in this article shows us the long-lost innocence. The joy she gains allows us to appreciate how great it is to be honest. Please read on …

Spiritual Reading: Why Is It Hard for a Rich Man to Enter God’s Kingdom?

By Xiaoliang

When I got up early in the morning, I said a prayer, then opened up the Bible and read the following: “And, behold, one came and said to Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And He said to him, Why call you Me good? there is none good but One, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments. He said to Him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

True Meaning of Revelation 22:18–19 About Not Adding or Removing Things

By Yuting, Japan

I heard news of the Lord’s coming but hesitated about whether to seek His word.

Ever since I believed in the Lord, I have often heard my pastor say, “We are already in the last days and the Lord will soon return; we must not go and listen to other sermons. Because Revelation 22:18–19 say, ‘For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Knowing God’s Love: What Does It Mean That Jesus Is the Lamb of God?

By Wuyan

It is recorded in the Bible, “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin” (Rom 8:3). From these verses we know that, in order to redeem us mankind from sin, the Lord Jesus was nailed to the cross as mankind’s eternal sin offering. And since then, we all call Him the sacrificial Lamb. But do you know the profound meaning behind this appellation?

When God’s Trials Befall, How Should We Christians Treat Them?

By Huixin

Every brother and sister will encounter trials, like illness, persecution and suffering, natural and manmade disasters. When these situations befall us, they are tests of our faith and obedience toward God. The Bible says, “For You, O God, have proved us: You have tried us, as silver is tried” (Psalm 66:10). “My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:2–4). From this we can see that trials are God’s tests and ordeals for people. They can temper people’s will, refine their confidence, cleanse the impurity in their belief in God, further their spiritual growth and make them soon become someone after God’s heart.

2 Reasons Why God Allowed Satan to Test Job

By Li Zhi

I believe that everyone knows well the story of Job. When his property was all taken away, his servants were murdered and his children had their lives taken, Job still revered God and shunned evil and didn’t sin with his tips. Moreover, he said a famous saying that cowed Satan, “Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah” (Job 1:21).

Who Is a Truly Righteous Man in God’s Eyes?

By Chengshi

The Lord Jesus said, “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father” (Matthew 13:43). These words tell us that only righteous man can enter God’s kingdom, and enjoy the blessings of the heavenly kingdom. So what kind of people are righteous? Most Christians reckon that as long as we accept the Lord Jesus’ salvation, persistently attend meetings, often pray and read the Bible, show others tolerance, patience and love, can suffer, work, trek and expend, we will then be righteous man in God’s eyes and be people after God’s heart. Is this view right? Does it accord with the Lord’s will? It’s necessary to fellowship about this topic, because only if we correctly understand the standard for being righteous man can we seek in accordance with God’s requirements and enter the kingdom of heaven in the end. Let’s fellowship about this issue.

By Jianchi, Taiwan

Why Has God Become Flesh to Perform His Work in the Last Days?

The brother went on, saying, “So then, why does the Lord have to appear and work in the flesh when He returns in the last days, and not appear and work directly in the resurrected spiritual body? In the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus performed the work of redemption.

Studying Eastern Lightning and Welcoming the Return of the Lord (Part 1)

By Jianchi, Taiwan

I’d believed in the Lord for 28 years as a member of a local church, and because I believed the negative publicity of the church, I almost missed my chance to welcome the return of the Lord Jesus. If it hadn’t been for God’s mercy, then I would have lost my one and only chance to attain true salvation. My experiences brought me to earnestly appreciate that, only by being a wise virgin, taking the initiative to seek the truth and focusing on listening to God’s voice can we welcome the appearance of God.

How Powerful Is the Power of Prayer? How Can We Gain It?

By Cindy, United States

First, the power of prayer is so great.

Jehovah God said, “Then shall you call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you” (Jeremiah 29:12). God straightforwardly told us that as long as we genuinely call out and pray to Him, He will accomplish everything we ask for. Indeed, the Bible records many stories in which situations take a turn for the better and problems are solved through the power of prayer.

New Understanding on “the Only Son”: It Doesn’t Imply That God Is Male

By Yan Xi, Japan

The notion of God’s gender was deeply rooted in my heart.

I grew up in a Christian family. Every year when the Spring Festival came, my father would buy some calendars from the church, most of which were printed with the portrait of the Lord Jesus, so in my mind the Lord Jesus was a male. One day, my mother said, “There were some people coming to our church preaching the way of the last days. And they said that God has once again become flesh and come to do the work of salvation as a female. This is impossible.

Changing My Attitude to Break Son’s Bad Habit

My son’s problems emerged one after another.

When my son was 9, I found he had become addicted to playing video games and watching TV. Every day when he got home from school, he would throw his schoolbag aside, go to the living room, and begin to play games on the tablet. As soon as he started playing, he could not stop it. And if I had not called him to dinner, he would even have forgotten to eat.
