When God’s Trials Befall, How Should We Christians Treat Them?

By Huixin

Every brother and sister will encounter trials, like illness, persecution and suffering, natural and manmade disasters. When these situations befall us, they are tests of our faith and obedience toward God. The Bible says, “For You, O God, have proved us: You have tried us, as silver is tried” (Psalm 66:10). “My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:2–4). From this we can see that trials are God’s tests and ordeals for people. They can temper people’s will, refine their confidence, cleanse the impurity in their belief in God, further their spiritual growth and make them soon become someone after God’s heart.

2 Reasons Why God Allowed Satan to Test Job

By Li Zhi

I believe that everyone knows well the story of Job. When his property was all taken away, his servants were murdered and his children had their lives taken, Job still revered God and shunned evil and didn’t sin with his tips. Moreover, he said a famous saying that cowed Satan, “Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah” (Job 1:21).

What Is Faith? What Will True Faith Bring to Us?

By Li Xin

What is faith? Under comfortable environments, with our works going well and family lives being peaceful, many of us will have the faith to follow the Lord, actively reading the Bible and attending meetings; however, once something unpleasant happens, we will become weak immediately. For example, when we are facing living difficulties because of losing our jobs, when our families lose peace due to something against our wishes happening, or when we are always refused a new job in spite of our praying, we begin losing our faith in God. Then, in consideration of all these things, what is real faith exactly?

By Kelly, United States

It’s said in the Bible, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts He any man” (James 1:13). So, some brothers and sisters wonder the difference between temptations and trials. Below, I’d like to share a bit of my understanding of this issue.

How to Become Strong and Rational Like Job in Trails

By Ai Xue

I believe each of us Christians is familiar with Job’s story in the Bible. His entire conduct during the trials has inspired generation after generation of Christians, and he set an exemplar for all of us to follow. Today I’d like to talk with everyone about an extraordinary quality Job revealed during the trials—his rationality. At the mention of rationality, everyone, I believe, knows its importance, otherwise there wouldn’t be the saying “Impulse is from the devil.” Then, how can we Christians possess the same rationality as Job? Now let’s seek for the way from his conduct in trials.

Thoughts Provoked by a Test: Trials of Hardship Are God’s Blessings

A story provoked my thoughts.

One day, I read a story like this:

A young man had a hard time finding a job as an offshore drilling team number. On his first day, the team leader asked him to deliver a box in the allowed time to the superintendent who was on the top floor tens of meters above the platform. After the young man saw the superintendent, the superintendent signed and asked him to send it down. When the young man got back to the team leader, the team leader signed and asked him to deliver it to the superintendent again.
